Ian Ferguson is a Colorado Springs native.

He received his Bachelors in trumpet performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007.

He received his AmSAT certification as a teacher of the Alexander Technique from the Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique in 2011 after completing the 3 year, 1600 hour program.

Ian is now an adjunct professor of the Alexander Technique at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music.

In 2017, Ian graduated as a member of Leadership Pikes Peak’s Signature Program.

An alumnus of the Colorado Springs Conservatory, Ian is now the Director of Programs at CSC. He oversees the day to day classes and lessons at the Conservatory as well as teaching lessons in piano, voice, trumpet, and guitar.

In addition to his duties at CSC, Ian maintains a robust studio of private Alexander Technique students and plays regularly in Colorado Springs and Denver as a jazz pianist, vocalist, and trumpet player.

He is the pianist for New Vintage Jazz and Nube Nueve, both groups are lead by New Orleans transplant Jeff Sutton on the trumpet.

Ian is an active composer and arranger in the area and also has been Music Director and pianist for main stage shows at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Ian also performs and records original compositions in a duo with his wife Beth Hembd.
